Getting Ready: Preparations at Castello di San Ruffino
Alejandra and Bruno’s wedding day began with the lively energy that this South American-Colombian couple naturally radiates. Alejandra, originally from Colombia but now a well-known TV journalist in California, was surprisingly calm while the talented Samantha Pretto applied her makeup. Around her, the castle rooms were filled with a cheerful, energetic buzz typical of South Americans, as family and friends moved around, getting dressed and preparing for the big day. Meanwhile, Bruno’s room was much more serene, with just a few close relatives nearby, as my assistant Gianni filmed these intimate moments for the wedding film.
The Ceremony: Intimate Catholic Wedding in Lari
After preparations, we moved to the historic center of Lari, a charming Tuscan village. We climbed to the top of the town to the Church of Santa Maria Assunta and San Leonardo, where Alejandra and Bruno celebrated a very intimate Catholic ceremony. Following the vows, we took group photos on the church terrace with all the relatives, capturing joyful and unforgettable moments. Afterwards, the newlyweds departed in a vintage car provided by Slow Hills, heading back to Castello di San Ruffino for the celebration.
Reception at Castello di San Ruffino: Flowers, Aperitif, and Couple’s Photos
Back at the castle, the stunning floral arrangements by Mainardi Fiori set the perfect scene for the reception. Guests enjoyed a lively aperitif while listening to music, laughing, and celebrating together. Alejandra and Bruno joined Andrea Corsi, longtime friend and talented photographer, and me for the couple’s portrait session, creating timeless images in the Tuscan landscape before returning to the castle for dinner.
Dinner and Evening Celebration
Dinner took place outdoors under beautiful lighting arrangements by Wedding Central House, accompanied by a DJ set from Danilo DJ. The celebration was filled with laughter, singing, and emotional moments. Touching speeches were given during the meal, including a special video message from Colombian singer Carlos Vives, who sent heartfelt congratulations to the couple. After dinner, the dance floor came alive with guests and the newlyweds distributing heart-shaped sunglasses, dancing wildly into the night, and making this wedding an unforgettable celebration of love, joy, and culture.
A Destination Wedding in Tuscany
Alejandra and Bruno’s wedding at Castello di San Ruffino and in the village of Lari is a perfect example of a destination wedding in Tuscany. From the intimate ceremony to the lively reception, every moment was filled with emotions, laughter, and the unique blend of South American and Italian style. As a wedding videographer in Tuscany and across Italy, capturing weddings like this is my passion, turning every detail, every smile, and every dance into a timeless story.
